5 Reasons to visit Cuba
There are so many reasons to visit Cuba which is going to become one of the world’s most popular travel destinations. Therefore, while the island and all its satellite islands remain largely undiscovered, now is the time to explore some of the attractions.
1. The principal attraction for visiting Cuba has to be its beaches which offer mile upon mile of white sand lying between swaying palms and a glinting
turquoise sea. Sitting on a remote Cuban beach looking at dolphins playing has to be one of nature’s greatest gifts.
2. Many people place swimming with dolphins high on their list of things to do in life and Cuba offers the perfect setting. In the resorts of Varadero and Holguin there are special trips where people go out in a boat and have the sheer joy of swimming with a school of dolphins.
3. Carnivals and Festivals course through Cuba’s veins and are so much more than just a street party as there is the most fantastic pulsating music, dancing, costumes, exotic food and the kind of atmosphere that cannot be imitated anywhere outside of the Caribbean. Many holidays are planned around Cuba’s carnivals and for obvious reasons.
4. Horse riding in Cuba is a superb way to enjoy the beautiful scenery and there are custom made horse riding holidays that take in the magnificent hills and valleys. For many people, galloping along a beach is one of their dreams and Varadero beach is so long that there are stretches where horse riding is permitted. Imagine how it will feel to gallop on the edge of a white sand beach with the pounding hooves splashing in the gently lapping water.
5. Deep sea fishing, towing a line behind a boat, is particularly popular off the northwest coast of Cuba in Cayo Guillermo, an area of the sea made famous by the great author and deep sea fisherman, Ernest Hemmingway who wrote ‘The Old Man and the Sea’. Of course, there are some people who are more interested in their golf stroke and would rather play a round of golf on one of Cuba’s many fine courses. Cuba has many more attractions including American cars that were built in the 1950s.
